When I open an email message that contain links, and I click on the link,
instead of opening the link in my web browser, a save as window opens, with
"executable file" as the file type.

Browse to your web browser executable and select it.

Windows is asking where the executable file that is your web browser
resides. Since you said it's OE, then browse to C:\Program Files\Internet
Explorer\iexplore.exe, select it, and click OK.

I had the same problem. When that box opens up, go to the C drive, find Programs, Then select Internet Explorer, then the IE.Exe file.
After this it will open IE. From there, go to tools, internet options, Programs, and Default Web brouser and make IE you default web brouser. That worked for me. Good luck Bulls-Eye Your Automation Solutions Provider
