How can Tasks be archived in a PST? [message #33176] Wed, 20 September 2006 11:52 Go to next message

After a task is completed and there is the strike through on the task, I want
to be able to archive the task in a .pst, and not have the completed tasks
mixed in with the uncompleted tasks.
I'm currently working in Office 2003 but also plan on doing this with 2007
Office.

Is there a way to move tasks into a pst in the same manner as e-mail can be
moved into a pst?

I have followed all of these steps - I can drag a Task to the folder, but the
Task opens up as an e-mail - it does not get moved.

Just asks if I want to save the Task, which is now an email.

I have made all of the PST set up from the Task pane,

Also, this new folder/pst should show up in the "My Tasks" list - but this
item on the left side seems to have a behavior allof oits own and is not
documented in the Help

In throey, my task archive should show up under "My Tasks" but I cannot see
how any item in this menu gets added in

Thanks for your response, I'm looking still at how to actualy move the task
to the pst - any further ideas?

Thanks Judy - noted the drop down when making the folder - also noted that
there are several other selections in the drop down - very helpful

Yep - easy and standard practice for many people.

Make a Tasks Folder in your PST file (get out of the darn Mail view of the
Navigation pane) use Folder List so you can actually see the folders you
have in the PST file.

New Folder | Give it a Name | Folder contains (change to Task Items) and
there you are.

Drag completed Tasks into this folder for storage.

you missed the step FOLDER CONTAINS when you made a folder - make a TASKS
folder and when
you drop Tasks into it they will remain as Tasks (not become emails)
