I have been using Outlook Connector 12.0.6423.1000. I see that in some mail
folders some email messages are blank except for the date when they are
received. The From, To, Subject fields are blank and I do not see anything in
the body of the email. I tried uninstalling Outlook Connector and
reinstalling it, deleting and adding a mail profile form Control
Panel<Mail<Profiles, rebooted windows each time. But all this to no avail.
Any solution or possible work around?

Regards,
-Vinay.

Are they blank online too? Are you scanning mail with a virus scanner?

Hello Diane,

They are not blank online. But yes, I have been using McAfee as the virus
scan program on Outlook. Please let me know of any questions that you might
have to diagnose the issue. Thanks for the quick response, by the way.

Regards,
-Vinay.

disable email scanning - you may need to uninstall mcafee and reinstall
using the custom option and not include email integration.

I did exactly those things. I uninstalled McAfee, then reinstalled disabling
the email scan option, I also reinstalled Outlook Connector. But still I see
some messages as blank.

Brian,

No, all the messages in Hotmail (via a web browser) are intact, none of them
are blank. I will delete all messages that are already downloaded
(C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Local Settings\Application
Data\Microsoft\Outlook\) and reinstall Outlook Connector, then add the email
account so it might start downloading all messages again.

Outlook Connector used to come up with a message - "There is an error with
Synchronization Configuration, you won't be able to download new messages
until it is repaired." After I click on repair, it used to download all
messages again.

-Vinay.

No, I did not make any difference. I deleted the account, restarted Outlook,
added the account again but still I see those blank messages.

I did that as well - uninstalled connector and reinstalled it. Still I see
those blank messages. I am trying my luck at Windows Live Help.

I am having the same issue. I installed Outlook Connector on my laptop back
when the message first came from Microsoft about needing to switch over to it
by September of this year. I had no problems and it has been working fine.
However, I installed Connector on my desktop computer today and many, many of
my e-mails are blank. I think the connector on my laptop was 12.0 and I
installed 12.1 on the desktop today. If you find a solution, could you
please post it here? Thanks.

Yes, I have been using Outlook Connector on my laptop and had no issues with
12.0. When 12.1 was released, I installed it and have been seeing many blank
emails since then. I posted this on Windows Live Help to see if we could find
a solution there.

I couldn't figure out where on Windows Live Help your message would have been
posted. Can you provide a link so I can follow it there? Thanks.

I am having the exact same issue. I have also tried killing the process for
my antivirus (Microsoft Security Essentials) and removing and re-adding my
hotmail acct, but when it syncs, it comes back with a bunch of blank messages.

Also, I recently upgraded to Win 7 RC and was wondering if the issue is
because of that. What version OS are you guys on? Around the same time I
also upgraded to the newest version of Outlook Connector and suspect that it
might be because of that since I hadn't seen the issue prior to that.

I am running AVF Free 8.5, same as on my laptop where I have used the
Connector for over a month with no blank e-mail issue, including no problem
with the initial download of all my e-mails. However, for the sake of
following advice given here I disabled the e-mail scanning function, removed
the Connector, removed the account, reinstalled the Connector, downloaded the
account again, and got the same problem. So I did the same uninstall
routine, installed the version of the Connector I was using on my laptop
(12.0 something), and re-ran it all. Still got blank e-mails. They appear
to be the same blanks every time (and they are definitely not blank when I
view them online or in Outlook on my laptop).

One interesting thing -- everything works fine for the first 20 to 30
minutes or so of the dowload. The blanks come toward the end (which is not
to say they are the most recent e-mails -- the download order is a little
more random than that).

Looks like it's not a Win 7 specific issue. Other users are having the same
problem in Vista SP2.

Here is the link to my post on Windows Live Help -
http://windowslivehelp.com/community/t/68963.aspx.

The OS I have been using is Windows XP SP3, and the version of Microsoft®
Office Outlook® Connector is 12.0.6423.1000.

Yes, I haven't seen the issue with the old version of Connector -
12.0.6414.1000. I would like to know if there is any way we could revert back
to the old version of the connector. Or if we could download/reinstall the
old version from Microsoft's website?

I do agree with you guys, my suspected point is the latest build of Outlook Connector. So could anyone provide me the link to download that build 12.0.6414.1000 for testing?

My system is Win 7 x64 Build 7201 with Outlook 2007 SP2 and OLC Build 12.0.6423.1000
