I'm using Outlook 2007 on a laptop with Vista. I have a POP/SMTP
server. My Send/Receive setting is set on "Send immediately when
connected." I have two email accounts - one business, one personal -
routed through Outlook and I've increased the amount of time between
checks for email to 30 minutes from 10.
Every now and again, usually on a message with a distribution list or
an attachment, Outlook gets into a continuous, non-stopping loop of
sending and receiving messages. For example, on Friday I checked the
Send/Receive details to find that Outlook had completed 108/108 tasks
before I shut it down.
This is a chronic issue. While it is not an every day event, it is
often enough tobe problematic. This is particularly so because the
message stays in the Outbox and so I don't know if the person has
received my message or not - particularly when I use a distribution
list.
In my most recent test, I sent 10 people a Bcc of a post addressed to
me with a 155 Kb attachment (pdf file). Outlook immediately went into
numerous iterations of the Send/Receive task. I did receive the
message - wo it apparently gets to the addressee, but I have no way of
knowing whether the people I Bcc'ed the note to got it because the
message is still in my Outbox (completing task 60 of 60.
While all this is going on, I seem to be able to receive email as I've
gotten several messages while Outlook was in the endless loop.
Any assistance that you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

I believe your problem is the one that I have just solved (at least the
symptom but not the root cause). I bet you have an e-mail message stuck in
your Outbox with an "invalid" e-mail address. Close OL, reopen and
immediately delete your outgoing message(s) before the Send/Receive starts.
It seems the root cause is the e-mail address is invalid - most likely from
one of your distribuiotn lists. I am waiting for a response on the best way
to fix these e-mail addresses so that they don't create a Send/Receive
endless loop.

I had the endless loop problem in the past and was able to fix it from one
discussion groups. Unfortunatly, I can't remeber how I did it. I have a
small message where I cut and pasted a small excell sheet that will not send
and will not delete

After my trial ver Outlook2007 is expiry, I downgrade to Outlook 2003.
BUT I FACE THE FOLLOWING PROBLEM.
Unable to open your default e-mail folders. Outlook could not start because a data file to
send and receive mail could not be found. To add a data file, such as a personal folder
file, double-click the Mail icon in Windows Control Panel.
I try to set in Mail Icon in Windows Control Panel, but when Adding Outlook date file "An unknown error occurred, error code 0x80070002"
FYI :
I am using Windows vista, install Microsoft Office 2003 after my 60days trial version of Office 2007 due for renew.
My Windows Vista is running with Workgroups - 3 Users. Only one user with Administrator right can use Microsoft Outlook 2003. Administrator User & another User cannot open Microsoft Outlook 2003 - Above error shown.
Even the working user also face cannot add new data file folder. Error code : 0x8000fffff
