I have an archive date file of previous emails done from outlook 2003 that I
am trying to open in outlook 2007 going file>open>outlook data file and then
locating it on external hard drive but when I try to open it I am told 'file
access denied. you do not have the permission required to access the file.'
Is anyone able to help me with this as I need to retrieve something from the
old emails. thanks

Check if the pst file is not Read-only. Uncheck the "read-only"
checkbox on the properties dialog. It should work!!
