If your ISP is 'at&t Yahoo! HSI', there is a known bug in some older
versions of MS Outlook; 2002? 2003? Not sure which version, but an update to
the current level of patching, for that version, will fix it.

I'm using remote email for the last 2 years which are
pop3r.xtra.co.nz
smtp.xtra.co.nz
I found out that they had changed the server settings to
pop3.xtra.co.nz
send.xtra.co.nz
And now I don't get the security cert message anymore.

We are having the same issue and our ISP passed the buck back to Microsoft.
What do I specifically ask the ISP to provide so we can fix this. If it's
relevant, our operating system is XP Pro with Outlook 2007. Anyone have
ideas? Really appreciate the help. Thanks.

Not sure if this is intermittent for you, but I would turn on SMTP protocol
logging and then wait for it to happen. From there, the log file will
contain the name/ip address of the server it is talking to. This should
help the ISP figure out which server has an SSL certificate installed.

Hi,
If you have an AOL account in Outlook, delete it and let Outlook 2007 automatically setup your AOL account, to my surprised it set it up as a POP mail account and not as an imap.as it used to be. Mine works fine now.
Good luck,
Marion
